The Dead, working out












I haven't blogged in a while since my brother visited. We went to the Greatful Dead concert on Thursday (his idea, not mine!) and had a great time. I would definitely go see them, but next time I'll sell bottles of beer before the show. The whole time my brother and I walked around the parking lot before the show, I kept saying, "I could be making so much money right now!"






More working out...

Yesterday I warmed up on the treadmill for 15 minutes, worked my legs, abs, and lower back.

Legs: 3 sets of 15 Leg press 160 lbs.
One-legged squats on the Smith machine, 3 sets of 15, 20 lbs.
Leg extensions (This is called either drop sets or stripping the stack) 10 reps of 90 lbs. (the heaviest I can do), then reduce weight to the next one up. Do as many reps at that weight, then keep lifting as many reps as possible at the next lighter weight.
Hamstring curls--same as the leg extensions.
Calf raises with 30 pound weights in each hand.
Inner thighs and butt--walk with exercise band. 3 sets of 20 on each leg
Butt--rest on exercise ball (position it between shoulders) and keep back straight. Put legs through exercise band, squeezing butt while opening and closing legs. I call this one the "Yes No."

I did the ab workout I posted and 2 sets of 15 reps of lower back extensions.

15 minutes on the Stair Master, 10 minutes of jumping rope with weighted jump rope, 20 minutes on the Elliptical while watching Ricki Lake's Charm School. The skanks on that show are hilarious!

My ass is sore today.
