The last time I stayed at my friend's place in San Clemente, I forgot to bring a book. So I looked through her selection of paperbacks and grabbed Dean Koontz's
Intensity. I had read maybe two other Koontz books when I was in high school and enjoyed them, so I figured I couldn't go wrong. Wow, I couldn't put it down!
It's such a rush. The protagonist Chyna Shepard battles one of the most evil villains ever. While visiting her friend Laura and Laura's family, Edgler Vess shows up and murders them. Chyna watches finds herself aboard Vess's trailer...and on a ride that will take her to places (both physical and mental) that she never thought she'd be.
Intensity is the thrill-ride of thrill-rides. Dean Koontz proves that he is, after all, the Master of Suspense, as he weaves a tale that will keep you riveted to the edge of your seat.
I discovered that Intensity was made into a movie which I will add to my Netflix queue for sure!
