A Tip for Bay Area Bartenders

Stop putting cherries in apple martinis! Seriously, why the hell did anyone ever think that would be a good idea? The garnish of the drink should enhance the flavor, not ruin it. Do I have to do everything myself?

I used to work in a martini bar in Chapel Hill, NC and they served the most delicious apple martinis you'd ever suck down your pie hole. The bartenders shared the recipe for the best apple martini with me.

  • 1 oz. DeKuper Sour Apple Pucker Schnapps

  • 1 oz. Vodka -- I don't care what kind, but you may find Apple Vodka gives it extra flavor

  • 1 oz. Apple Juice -- that is the "secret" ingredient that makes it delicious

  • Last but not least, garnish it with a slice of green apple.
